I was perusing IMDB and noticed that remakes of Prom Night and April Fool's Day are being remade. Why has Hollywood run out of ideas for horror movies?

Because everything needs to be rated PG-13 nowadays. Good old slasher flicks need all that gore, swearing, and nekkid ladies running around that an R rating would give them.

..You just noticed hollywood has run out of ideas?..lack of fresh screenplays started about 25 years ago!..and not just horror films..'Get Smart:The Movie' is on the way soon!..eeek.

IMO.....'Prom Night' and 'April Fools Day' had even less traction with audiences back then than the 'Friday the 13th' sequels........I know that a re-make shows just how unoriginal Hollywood has gotten lately, but perhaps with these particular movies, it will get audiences to take them more seriously (and perhaps get the original a special re-release perhaps? ;))

Never much cared for Prom Night, but April Fools Day did have its moments...
