I was watching Stuart Gordon's "The Black Cat" the other night and thought this was one of the best "Masters of Horror" entries in a loooong time. Very atmospheric and the overall concept to tell the fictional conception of Edgar Allan Poe's story "The Black Cat" in a plot that is every bit as chilling as his own stories was marvellous, I thought.

Thanks - I added to my wish list. I bought a few dvds from the first season and a couple from the 2nd so far, but they are really uneven and it's hard to tell which ones would be worth blind buying. I think I'm going to start renting these.

Thanks for the recommendation, Guido!
I am interested in the adaptation of literary works, so I will have to remember to get this. Since this series is not shown in France, I have no idea whether I should wait for a box set (are there enough good ones to make it worth) or buy them separately-- and which ones? (Different reason, but same dilemma as Jim).
