I have seen it.
Universal Studios Home Entertainment will finally debut an extended version of Waterworld.
The two disc set contains pretty much zip for new bonus features. No cigarettes, no oil, no jet skis, not even drop of a dirt.
Both the extended version running at 2hrs 57mins and the original theatrical version are included on the set. Both are presented in anamorphic/16x9 with Dolby Digital English 5.1 surround.
Find it November 8th for a retail of $19.98 US.

I wonder who will want this set?,many people think the theatrical version was a bore..so they'll really hate a longer version. It was a bomb in theaters if I recall.

The extended version is much, much, MUCHO better than the theatrical cut. More character and story details are included in this cut and its a better experience overall.
This is also one of the first modern films to earn most of its money back internationally. It may have sunk domestically but it floated beautifully outside of the US.

Honestly, I never understood why people so disliked the film. I always thought it was an okay "Mad Max" knock-off - certainly better than "Beyond Thunderdome" and yet it's being treated as if it were a really bad movie.
I've always enjoyed this movie and hope the extended version makes its way to Blu-ray. :)

I think it has to do with how people trash talked it down even though they didn't even see it!!! Get enough morons to spread negativity & I'm sure it will sway people from even bothering to check it out. I mean if I said such & such title was crap, would you believe I even watched it?
I agree with ya & gil, I liked it. It didn't blow me away but it was entertaining. :)

I thought it was just okay for a Mad Max take-off,I would have like to have seen the flooding of the earth happen at the beginning rather than just the after effects.
