One important thing to point out is, HD DVD hardware and software is fully region free!

What may be a Blu ray exclusive title here in North America, could easily turn up on HD DVD in another country, thanks to distribution rigths. This adds another option to home theater enthusiasts that currently only support HD DVD.

There are some big titles that are not available here in the US and Canada on HD DVD that have become available on HD DVD in Europe.

I just got my japanese import of Finding Neverland in the mail yesterday afternoon. and last week i recieved the Elephant man french import.

oh by the way i just want to give everyone a big hello i used to post on the old forum a few years ago, but it got so infantile with zolly ( i think that was that clowns name) and various others, that i stopped posting but would still read from time to time.
when i saw that there was a new fourm i thought hey why not jump back in again. i like how it appears the bad apples from the old days are gone. and i really love how you have a thread just for HDDVD.

Not yet. The Weinstein Company probably has some big plans for a home video release. If they continue to support HD DVD the way they have been, this title will likely hit HD DVD sometime this year.

If you like a little film called "Kill Bill", that too is rumored to be getting ready for an HD DVD release. The funny thing is, "Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2" are owned by Disney (when the Weinstein's were known as Miramax), but, "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" (Vol 1 and Vol 2 edited into one massive epic) is solely owned by the Weinstein Company and therefore has a great chance of appearing on HD DVD. :)

and i was told it shipped today so i should have it by saturday since it was sent priority mail. i cant wait to see it in high def.

i was wondering about that. when i saw the listing on AMAZON.com that the weinstein co and Genius with a street date the kill bill the whole bloody afair on standard definition dvd.

the weinstien co has put out some really great transfers on there hd dvd discs, especially the Matador, so i can just imagine what kill bill will look like and grind house.

its awesome that some of these bluray exclusives in the us are distributed by other studios overseas. if disney had distributed the prestige in the uk we never would have seen the prestige in hddvd.

but what i really am amused by is the number of SONY movies that distributed by studio canal overseas that have the potential to be released on foriegn hd dvd

Warner Home Video will delay HD DVD releases to three weeks after DVD and BD releases. This affects all of their upcoming titles...even catalog product.

This is their way of seperating from HD DVD. Let BD consumers enjoy the films first then HD DVD consumers.
