I just got info in that Walmart will start selling a Funai Blu-Ray player for $298 starting this Memorial Day weekend. Selling under the Magnavox brand name it may not be the slickest player but it is profile 1.1 compliant and certainly cheap.

The player will also go on sale at Best Buy for $348 under its Insignia brand.

Holly shint!!!

That means if this player is still being manufactured around Black Friday then its going to be around $200-$250!

Only one DVD player was available at the sub $250 in Late 1998. Even though its the same box, technically its two players.

1.1 compliant/Bonus View means that it can play the Universal and new Warner BDs. Wow. Now if this Funai box works better than the Samsung boxes, it may wake Samsung's Q/A team up.

Yes, I expect this player to hit the $200 mark by the Holiday season this year. It will definitely be interesting to see how it compares in terms of quality. If anyone actually buys this thing when it comes out this week, let's hear about it.

It just went under $200!

Buy any BD player and get a $100 gift card INSTANTLY including this model!!

That means most stores have this for $290-$300 before the gift card instant rebate.

Damng. Wal-Mart even has a handful of titles for $15. This includes the $40 retailed Shooter and Flags of Our Fathers.

So for $190, you can get a great Fathers Day gift plus you can pick up some great movies for $15 dollars a piece.
