Paramount Goes Blu Again May 20th!

Parmaount Home Entertainment has announced their first wave of Blu-ray titles since the folding of their HD DVD products.

A Nicolas Cage double feature hits with the delayed titles Face/Off - Special Collector's Edition and last year's box office mind trip Next.

Dreamworks Animation's Bee Movie wil be the first animated title from PHE.

Cloverfield and There Will Be Blood will be the last of the May 20th releases.

Amazingly, Bee Movie will retain most of the interactive bonus materials from the canned HD DVD. Next will also keep the supplement from the HD DVD.

The small second wave of titles on June 3rd includes: Cloverfield which adds an interactive BD exclusive "Special Investigative Mode" that takes viewers deeper in the conspiracy and mystery plus the extras from the recent DVD while There Will Be Blood offers a BD exclusive slideshow of vintage photos set to Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood along with the bonus features from the recent special edition DVD.

Face/Off and Next look to simply be the shelved BDs from several months ago. So expect PCM English 5.1 Surround sound for Next and dts 5.1 & Dolby 5.1 on Face/Off. No word on audio specs for the other titles.

Paramount Home Entertainment's first day and date BD will be The Spiderwick Chronicles - Field Guide Edition on June 24th.
