I used my 360 as a dvd player before i got the hd-dvd add-on. i use that now. i have a regular region ree player as well but its just easier (and lazier?) for me to use the 360.

Bryan. I Don't have or own a HD DVD or Blue ray player - I waited for the winner to be decided....

Ok. I just had/have a plain old dvd sony player - Now that I hooked up my x box 360 to my lcd & my sony dvd Is'nt anymore - is this ok??? to use the 360 this way - is it built to handle dvd watching on it?? & I'm not a big movie watcher if truth be told & by that I mean 1 - 2 times a week tops...

So is it ok to use the 360 for dvd movies??? period....

The 360 is fine to watch DVDs.

If you don't already, I suggest you buy their remote.

Is it worth it or any good??? I've been lightly kicking around the thought of Buying that logistic remote I see advertised or the Harmony - I Just wince at the Price of some of those ******s!!!!! they are expensive - The 360 one is'nt as I saw a $15 price on it but I hear it's a EH remote & the other 2 are Better choices....

The 360 remote uses IR frequency.

Its not bad for the price & is backlight.

The 360 is fine for wacthing dvds. Its not like the ps2 was where you had to worry about wearing out the drive.

The movies look real good too. I was just saying that before I even got the hd player add-on that i was using the system to watch dvds.
