Yikes!
So, I ordered the HD DVD test disc of "HQV Benchmark by Silicon Optix" and after performing the tests, my almost 2 year old Sony Bravia LCD TV was given an average rating, but failed most of the tests for interlacing, etc.:(
In a way, I am not surprised, as there are only a few TV's on the market that meet the strict standards of properly displaying an HD image without losing detail and handling interlaced as well as properly de-interlacing an HD image (for true 1080p).
For $15 (including shipping), I highly recommend ordering one of these discs (available in standard DVD, HD DVD or Blu ray). It is hard to accept if your display "fails" some of the tests, but easily becomes a powerful tool when evaluating a future purchase of an LCD, Plasma, etc.
