I just found out today that there was a director's cut released, so of course I went out and bought since I thought the theatrical release was brilliant.
Around the end I realised that there is at least one missing scene from this new version. The scene i'm talking about happened not long after the battle when Menelaus is killed by hector, where it's just Paris and Helen in their room. She is fixing the cut on his leg and he's talking about being a coward.

Has anyone else noticed any missing scenes?

I watched the director's cut back when it came out (September, I think), and only noticed extra scenes and more gore, but not missing scenes.
Tell me when exactly in the theatrical cut that particular scene takes place, and I will check it out.
By the way, I love Troy, and the longer cut was cool, but not necessarily better than the other one. I didn't think the gore or the extra scenes added much. But I am still happy for double dipping on this one. I wish Wolfgang Petersen's other movies were as good as this one.
Any other comments?

That is a Gr8 Dir. Cut !! :D

Good movie , but the extended version is way better.

Did you guy`s get the "big collectors box" version ? So cool !

Anyway , if you want to watch it "old school" , it`s on AMC tonight.
