View Full Version : Blu Ray disc problem
I have an Insignia dvd player, and have received two blu ray discs from Netflix in succession after reporting a problem (the latest James Bond film, Quantum of Solace), and it will not play the movie, repeatedly coming back to the start page. Is there a newer technology on the discs that my player lacks? No other blu ray disc I played recently has had this problem. Two discs in a row from Netflix and the same problem leads me to wonder. Netflix problem advice states that some blu ray players may need an upgrade. I just bought the player 2 months ago. I sent the disc back for a second replacement. Any advice would be helpful

Netflix = problemo #1
Insignia = = problemo #2
Only problems I've read from playback issues are from rentals, specifically Netflix ones.
Insignia players are just downright cheap. There may be firmware updates directly from their site but I suggest investing in a different model player altogether. I strongly recommend the PS3 but if you prefer standalone players within budget than I suggest the Sony BDP 550 or 350.

Yes, stay away from cheap off brands like Insignia..I have a Sony player and have never had a problem with it playing any dvd or blu-ray disc period!..unlike my LG dvd recorder that has been a pain in the #%# since the day I got it..I have to reset the clock all the time,it'll play dvds only when it feels like it,I have to unplug it some time because the machine 'locks-up' for some reason either because it's memory goes blank or whatever!,the people at the main office are rude when I call to complain about isssues with it{they act like their half asleep or eating and I'm bothering them}..stay away from LG products..if you don't believe me search LG complaints on the web and read other peoples horror stories!.
