Now for the kicker: The Limited Edition T2 Complete Collector's Setincludes the new Skynet Edition BD of the film, the Extreme Edition DVD, and back in print just for this: the Ultimate Edition DVD. This means that nearly every added-value element for T2 will be available in one set save for the G&R music video. On top of that, a premium 14" replica bust of the T-800 Endoskull will be included in this set. The premium bust plays sound effect samples from the film and has light up eyes! Oh, and the requisite digital copy disc is thrown in the box as well.

Retail is $29.99 US for the BD only while the Limited Edition will retail for $174.99 US.

"What's wrong with your eyes?

We just cry. You know, when it hurts."

Yeah, you read that last part right. Start saving your quarters now, you are going to need them.

Come on, we all know that Lionsgate will find a way to re-release this on Blu-ray after this one just like Hollywood producers find a way to resurrect The Terminator franchise.

I am very pleased to read this! I was very disappointed with the 1st Blu-Ray version being the theatrical version. I prefer the special edition and I am looking forward to having it on Blu-Ray!

The Europe review is up at Blu-Ray.com for the Skynet Edition.

Now you may want to wait a little longer...

plenty of noise reduction on this transfer

It seems instead of keeping the grain intact, they used a lot of DNR to attempt to get rid of it. Sure that is an effective method but leaves little detail & clarity in the overall image. I suspect a nice wax museum look. Hopefully the U.S. release will not be a port but I'd strongly suggest waiting for reviews to be sure.

Optimum, Kinowelt and Studio Canal are sharing for the UK, German and French Skynet releases

Here is High Def Digest's take on the US release:

Shot in James Cameron's beloved Super35 process, 'T2' has always looked a little grainy, and there is some here, but overall the source is cleaner than past DVD and LaserDisc versions, with no irritating blemishes or speckles.

Unfortunately, daylight scenes, as well as some of the hospital interiors, still look a tad flat.

Some of the composite shots look a little blurry, with minor fluctuations in brightness.

Well, its either this or wait for another re-release that drops more special features.

They need to re-do 'the Terminator' blu-ray..the image isn't that good.
