I just read that they are going to release the original x-rated version of Robocop this fall. It is going to re-add all the ultra-violent scenes that were cut to make it R. I can't wait!

Didn't they already do that with the Criterion release a few years back?

The whole scene with Murphy getting shot to shreds was cut for the theatrical version.

The uncut scene is more violent and brutal.

My friend did mention to me the other dau of a new release but it wouldn't be X it would be NC-17 nowadays.

I have an older special edition of Robocop (not Criterion) that has that extended scene of Murphy getting shredded. It is quite graphic. I don't know if there is any *more* footage that could be put in.

There is a new two disc special edition coming next month. Disc 1 is the R-rated theatrical cut with special features and dts & Dolby 5.1 sound. Disc 2 is the unrated/x-rated director's cut with new special features and dts & Dolby 5.1 sound. It comes a Steelbook package.

It comes out the same day as the Serenity SE, so I'm buying both!

I read this in the new issue of Wizard. New scenes added are Murphy's execution, an OCP exec shredded by a malfunctioning ED-209, and a bad guy getting splashed by toxic waste and then being splattered on a windshield.

Includes 3 new doc.

I was under the impression the box set they released a few years ago (which contains all 3 films) had the "uncut" version of the first film.
